Vladimir Putin congratulated the management, faculty, students, alumni and veterans of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its 85th anniversary.

“The Academy has a high reputation both in Russia and abroad as a leading educational and scientific centre on diplomacy and international politics. It plays an important role in the system of additional and further training for the staff of the Foreign Ministry and other Russian agencies operating worldwide.

The Academy’s alumni, including representatives of many foreign states, work successfully in diplomacy as well as in politics, science and business.

The Academy’s analytic research is in demand at the Foreign Ministry and helps find solutions to topical issues on the regional and global agenda.

The international situation today is highly dynamic, which determines the need to constantly improve the methods of diplomatic activities.

Of course, this places greater demands on the Academy’s work: its staff must take into consideration developments in diplomatic practice and carefully analyse the experience of other countries’ foreign agencies in line with the best Russian diplomatic traditions.

I am confident that your staff will continue to work effectively for our common good. I sincerely wish the management, faculty, staff and students of the Diplomatic Academy new successes and all the best.

I would also like to convey my greetings to the honoured veterans of the Academy, who worked there in the past and shared their knowledge and expertise. I thank them from my heart and wish them health, high spirits and long years.”
